Wilson Language Training is a pioneer and continues to be a leader in championing an evidence-based structured literacy approach to teaching reading and writing. Aligned with Orton-Gillingham principles of instruction, this approach integrates the five critical components of literacy - phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. A variety of programs are available within Wilson Language Training, which help to create a pathway to success for individuals with diverse learning abilities. The Foundations Program is designed to prevent reading failure and identifies students who would benefit from intervention support early. The Wilson Reading System is an effective solution for students with dyslexia who may have struggled to learn with other teaching strategies.

Why offer both?
At New Hope Christian School, we know that not all children learn the same. That is why we’re glad to offer more than one option for students who require assistance with reading, spelling, and literacy. We provide one-on-one tutoring students of New Hope Christian School and homeschool families in the area. Each child goes through an assessment to determine their needs, which program may help them most, and the correct level at which to begin. Scheduling is flexible, with in-person sessions during the school day and virtual options in the evening. Whether your child has a learning need, such as dyslexia, or just requires some extra support to close the literacy gap, our Reading Intervention Tutor, Shelby Anglemyer, will help you to find the best path for each unique child.
