Week 1: Comparison
Every time we go down the slippery slope of comparison we move further and further from the joy that God gives to us in His Son!
We are part of a long history of people who are struggle with comparison!
"Comparison is the thief of joy." - Teddy Roosevelt
Comparison is the enemy of contentment.
Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. - Galatians 6:4-5 (MSG)
There is only ONE you!
God created you as His masterpiece! Who you think you need to be actually pales in comparison to who you already are!
There is only one me I can be and when I try to be someone else I can’t be the one who God made me to be!
Anytime we hold this measuring stick up to anyone or anything but Jesus we forget that we are God’s chosen, holy and dearly loved!
“You are free from the need to compare. You are loved because you are mine!” - Jesus
