We're making changes to our service times to serve you better!
Beginning Sunday, September 9th, Worship Celebration times will be shifting to 8:30AM and 10AM. Both Worship Celebrations will continue to be identical in format, message, and music, but will offer different opportunities for families with children.
Wondering what Sunday morning option will work best for you? Read on!
At 8:30AM, Connectionland Junior (our nursery ministry) will be available for infants through preschoolers. Older children are welcome to join their parents in the Worship Center. Those attending Worship at 8:30 are invited to join us at 10:00 for adult opportunities and children's ministry activities.
Our 8:30AM Worship Celebration is a good fit for you if: you're an early riser, you want to worship together as a family, you want to attend 10am Bible Study or Children's Ministry opportunities, or if you are a New Hope Kids volunteer.
Our 10AM Worship Celebration is a good fit for you if: being at church by 8:30am seems impossible, you have children who have trouble paying attention during church, you like the idea of your kids learning an age appropriate Bible lesson while you are able to focus on the Sunday message.
At 10AM, in addition to our regular Worship Celebration, we have a number of options available for adults and children alike.
God made me, He loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. These are the important truths we teach in Connectionland Junior. Babies through preschoolers spend time singing, dancing, and visiting with their friend Ollie the Owl in a large group "Clubhouse" before breaking off to small groups by age to enjoy games and crafts designed especially for them!
We aim to make this the best hour of your child's week. In Connectionland we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud, and good leaders always care. Our Kindergarten through 5th graders start in a large group but quickly break off into small groups, where they connect with the same leader each week. It's in those small groups that kids see how God’s Word fits into their lives, learn how to talk to Him, and build friendships that will last.
We are hopeful that this 10AM hour will meet a need for adults looking to grow in their relationship with God and each other. We will use this time to offer small group studies (Parents, this means you can participate in a small group without having to worry about getting a babysitter for your kids!). new member classes, and special offerings like Financial Peace University. Adding an Associate Pastor to our staff will allow us to expand offerings for adults this Fall.
The primary reason for shaking up our Sunday morning is to better serve more souls that matter to God. As He has brought new families into our doors over the past several months, we have been faced with one universal question. Most parents want to know where to take their kids during church. Our current service structure does not offer anything for elementary aged children during either of our Worship Celebrations. For those who are just getting connected to God, just hearing the Gospel for the first time, it can be overwhelming to think about having their children with them. Having Connectionland and Connectionland Junior running at the same time as adult worship takes away that obstacle. It allows these parents to focus on the message, while knowing their children are being cared for and hearing the Good News at an age appropriate level themselves. As we move forward with our daycare expansion plans, we are prayerful that we will be welcoming more families who will benefit from this option.
Here are a couple of frequently asked questions we've received about this change:
Can I still attend the 10AM with my children? Absolutely. New Hope has always welcomed families worshiping together and we will continue to do so. We believe strongly in the curriculum of our Connectionland Junior and Connectionland program, so we would love to have them in children's ministry at that time but we leave the decision up to each individual family.
What about my middle and high schoolers? Our Student ministries will continue on their regular Sunday afternoon and evening schedule. If you are worshiping at 8:30, there are many serving opportunities for students to get involved in! Reach out to Emily Urban or Sarah Vogel for some ideas!
